Shingles built for Lethbridge weather

Can you replace a roof in winter?
Yes. We work year-round. Southern Alberta has plenty of mild, dry winter days — Chinooks can push the temperature well above freezing in the middle of January. We schedule around the forecast and use cold-weather installation practices so the shingles seal properly. If a leaking roof can't wait until spring, it doesn't have to.
A roof that's still good years from now
The real test of a roof replacement isn't the day the crew leaves — it's how it looks after five winters of Chinooks and a few hailstorms. We'd rather do it right once than come back to fix shortcuts.

How do I know if I need a new roof or just a repair?
If the problem is in one spot — a few missing shingles, a leaking vent, damaged flashing — a repair usually makes sense. If the shingles are curling, losing granules everywhere, or the roof is 20+ years old and leaking in more than one place, replacement is usually the better money. We'll tell you honestly which one you need.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most houses are done in a day or two, weather permitting. Bigger roofs, steep pitches, multiple layers or rotten decking add time. You get an expected timeline in your written quote, before anything starts.
Do you tear off the old roof or shingle over it?
We tear off down to the deck. That's the only way to see and fix soft or rotten boards, and it gives the new shingles a flat, solid base to seal to.
Can you roof in the winter?
Yes — we work year-round, including winter. Southern Alberta gets plenty of workable winter days, especially during a Chinook. We watch the forecast, use the right installation methods for cold weather, and won't install in conditions that would hurt the roof.
What warranty do I get?
The shingles carry the IKO manufacturer warranty for the product line you choose, and we stand behind our workmanship. Chris explains exactly what's covered and puts it in writing with your quote.
Do I need to be home while you work?
No. We need access to the yard and an outdoor power outlet is helpful. Most homeowners are around at the start and for the final walkthrough, but it isn't required — we'll call or text you with updates.
